Allison Brooks Janney, an American actress was born in the year 1959. Her appearances on screen and the stage have garnered praise throughout her long career. Janney was awarded numerous accolades including The Academy Award and British Academy Film Award. Additionally, she received seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Additionally, she was in the running for 2 Tony Awards. Janney was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. She was born in and was raised in Boston. After graduating at Kenyon College, she received an entire scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney made her television debut during 1999. She was C. J. Cregg as part of NBC's politic program The West Wing from 1999-2006 which earned her 4 Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding actresses in Drama Series. She was awarded this prize for her portrayal of Margaret Scully in Showtime's drama Masters of Sex. Janney received nominations several times in the Primetime Emmy Awards and twice won Outstanding Supporting Actress Comedy Series.
