Mary Eileen McDonnell born 28 April 1952 is a famous American stage as well as film and television actor. McDonnell was awarded the Academy Award nomination for her performance in Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and she is also well-known for her portrayal of President Laura Roslin in Battlestar Galactica, the President's wife during Independence Day and for her leading role in Donnie Darko as the titular character's mother.
